Dzemila Mujčić – Dzemila is the co-founder of Benefit for BiH. Born in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, she moved to the United States with her family. She is a student at Virginia Commonwealth University, studying to get her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Although she was born after the war and did not experience the immediate repercussions, she was inspired by her parents’ stories of living through the war to make this organization in the hopes that people’s lives would change for the better.
Mirzet Mujčić – Mirzet is the co-founder of Benefit for BiH. He was born in Bratunac, Bosnia and Herzegovina and lived through the 1992-5 Bosnian war. He is a concentration camp survivor. Currently, he serves as the President of the Congress of North American Bosniaks and is a member of the Institute for Research of Genocide, Canada. Mr. Mujčić played a vital role in getting the state of Virginia to recognize July 11th as Srebrenica Genocide Remembrance Day.
Dzelila Hajdarović – Dzelila is a full-time nursing student and has a nursing and lifestyle blog on the side (NurseLila). She was born in Bosnia and moved to the U.S. with her family when she was four. She’s recently married and moved to Texas. Apart from studying and working on her blog, she loves to travel with her husband.
Meaz Hajdarović – Meaz immigrated to the US from Stolac in 1996. Having lived through the war and understanding the pain through his family’s experiences, he has made an effort to never forget where he came from and to always help when he can. Meaz believes in working towards building a thriving Bosnia & Herzegovina and its community.
Emina Sejmenović – Emina, along with her family, is part of the Bosnian diaspora. Her parents were born and raised in Srebrenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina, whereas she was born in a small town in Germany. She is currently a student at Virginia Commonwealth University studying computer science. In her free time, she enjoys reading and painting. Emina is part of this nonprofit because she believes the best way to help yourself is by helping others.
